The Analog Garage Operations and Program Management team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of advanced research and development initiatives within our innovation portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex hardware and software development programs, with a focus on driving operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.

This role will manage a diverse portfolio of R&D and technology programs that span systems, software, AI/ML, and other cross-disciplinary components. Projects cut across multiple market segments—including energy, healthcare, and robotics—and involve collaboration with stakeholders across various ADI teams, spanning a range of product applications and form factors.

The Program Manager will operate with a high degree of independence, leading programs end-to-end while navigating complexity and ambiguity. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, the ability to influence without authority, and strong collaboration skills to engage effectively with stakeholders ranging from senior leadership to individual contributors and support functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and independently manage a portfolio of early-stage R&D and innovation programs spanning hardware, software, AI/ML, and cross-disciplinary systems within the Analog Garage and broader Emerging Business & Innovation (EB&I) portfolio

  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, helping teams define problem spaces, clarify objectives, structure milestones, and adapt plans as programs evolve through iterative learning and pivots

  • Partner with sponsors, technical leads, cross-functional teams, and external collaborators to drive alignment, manage dependencies, and remove roadblocks across diverse stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, technical feasibility, and stakeholder expectations

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks; manage changes effectively while guiding teams through uncertainty with clarity and focus

  • Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes through concise, executive-level updates, translating technical and operational details into clear, actionable insights for leadership

  • Foster high-performing teams by creating structure, maintaining momentum, and reinforcing accountability in fast-paced, dynamic environments

  • Drive continuous improvement of program management processes tailored to the needs of early-stage innovation and R&D programs

  • Support operational execution as needed (e.g., contract facilitation, IT/security assessments) to ensure programs progress smoothly and efficiently

  • Enable strategic initiatives by translating technical and operational inputs into actionable plans that advance the organization’s innovation roadmap

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, or related discipline)

  • 7+ years of experience in program management leading complex technology programs across full development lifecycles (Agile and hybrid models)

  • Demonstrated experience leading early-stage innovation, advanced R&D, or venture-style programs within complex technology organizations

  • Strong enterprise-level systems thinking with the ability to orchestrate cross-functional programs spanning hardware, software, AI, and business strategy

  • Proven success operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments requiring rapid iteration, pivoting, and milestone redefinition

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional, globally distributed teams and external partners

  • Experience with program management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, and GitHub, with familiarity in Agile and hybrid methodologies

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable insights
