Come Dream with Us at Hatch

There’s nothing like a great night’s sleep—the cozy, wrapped-up-in-a-heavy-blanket kind of sleep. The fire-crackling, curtains-drawn, DO NOT DISTURB kind of sleep. You know, the good stuff.

But here’s the thing: while 85% of people agree sleep is the key to their well-being, more than half are unsatisfied with their own. Whether it’s stress, interruptions, work, or little ones waking in the night, so many people need help getting truly restorative rest.

That’s where we come in. At Hatch, we’re on a mission to help people build better sleep habits—so they can feel more focused, energized, and present in their lives. We’ve designed best-in-class smart sleep devices, paired with science-backed sleep content, to help people unwind nightly, sleep deeply, and wake gently. More than 5 million sleepers of all ages have made space for rest with Hatch, with our baby products in 1 in 3 nurseries and our adult product, Restore, taking over nightstands (and TikTok) worldwide.

The Opportunity

As the strategic thought‑partner to our executive team, you will translate market signals, customer trends, and financial realities into decisive growth plays. You’ll own the end‑to‑end insight cycle—sizing opportunities, shaping go‑to‑market bets, and measuring business impact—so that every marketing dollar and product initiative ladders up to sustainable enterprise value. You will partner with leaders across the organization as you work on mission critical projects. This role will challenge you to think strategically and contribute to high-level discussions across the organization. This role will report to the head of Acquisition marketing. This person must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.

What You’ll DoIn Your First 45 Days
  • Master the landscape. Absorb our annual operating plan and LRP, competitive positioning, and P&L targets until you can cite them from memory.
  • Pressure‑test assumptions. Audit current marketing performance against goals; flag blind spots and quick‑win efficiencies.
  • Frame the right questions. Define the 3–5 strategic hypotheses that will unlock outsized growth and craft high‑level test plans.
  • Influence early. Join leadership forums as the voice of marketing, ensuring marketing decisions align with broader business objectives.
By 90 days
  • Guide investment mix. Synthesize insights from marketing platform data, sales channel data, test results, and competitive intel into clear recommendations on channel budgeting and scaling.
  • Operationalize learning loops. Embed a cadence of strategic reviews—monthly performance readouts, and tests‑and‑learn roadmaps—so that insights translate into action.
After Your First Year
  • Shape long‑range strategy. Co‑lead annual planning, setting bold yet attainable growth targets and scenario models for new markets, partnerships, and product lines.
  • Be the insight evangelist. Package complex findings into crisp board‑level narratives that drive alignment and accelerate decision‑making.
  • Deliver outsized impact. Demonstrably lift revenue, margin, and marketing efficiency through your strategic guidance and cross‑functional leadership.
What You’ll Bring
  • 6+ years steering growth strategy, corporate strategy, or marketing leadership within high‑growth consumer or e‑commerce companies.
  • Proven record of crafting multi‑channel growth playbooks and influencing C‑suite decisions that accelerate both revenue and profitability.
  • Mastery of the core marketing levers of growth—market & audience expansion, channel‑mix optimization, and conversion‑rate uplift—and of building quantitative models that steer marketing investment.
  • Expert experimenter: hands‑on experience designing, launching, and analyzing marketing tests at the campaign, channel, geo, and audience levels.
  • Adept at translating quantitative analysis and qualitative insight into compelling strategic narratives that drive action.
  • Executive presence & storytelling finesse; you slice through complexity, crystallize choices, and mobilize cross‑functional teams.
  • Growth mindset & relentless curiosity; you continually scan the landscape for emerging opportunities, competitive moves, and disruptive business models.
  • Data‑savvy and self‑sufficient: comfortable writing SQL, an advanced power‑user of Excel/Google Sheets, and quick to master new BI platforms.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
