In this role, you will guide engineering best practices, strengthen our cloud and data capabilities, mentor team members, and contribute to the development of AI-powered solutions that accelerate client transformation.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Lead the design and development of scalable full-stack applications leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Python, PySpark, and modern front-end technologies.
Serve as a technical thought leader—driving architecture decisions, establishing engineering standards, and ensuring solutions align to client business goals.
Partner closely with data engineering, data science, AI, product, and cloud teams to create cohesive, end-to-end solutions.
Full-Stack Engineering & Development
Build robust backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Fabric/Synapse components.
Develop intuitive, performant front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Angular, or similar).
Implement resilient integration patterns, ensuring reliability and efficient workload orchestration across systems.
Quality, Testing & Error Handling
Embed engineering excellence into every stage of development—championing structured error handling, exception management, and observability across applications and pipelines.
Establish and enforce automated testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD quality gates.
Drive code quality through code reviews, pair programming, and documentation that adheres to Blend’s high standards.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and coach engineers, elevating technical capability and fostering a culture of craftsmanship, curiosity, and continuous learning.
Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and stakeholders to shape project scope, requirements, and delivery plans.
Cultivate an environment of transparency and teamwork, ensuring alignment across distributed and cross-functional teams.
7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in full-stack development.
Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Python, and PySpark.
Proven experience designing and implementing data-intensive applications, distributed systems, and scalable backend architectures.
Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, with strong grounding in JavaScript/TypeScript.
Solid understanding of cloud-native development, particularly within Azure (Databricks experience a plus).
Engineering Excellence
Strong command of structured error handling, logging frameworks, and observability best practices.
Demonstrated ability to implement automated testing (unit, integration, regression) and maintain high code quality in production environments.
Experience driving and enforcing CI/CD workflows, version control best practices, and agile development methodologies.
Leadership & Communication
Experience leading engineering teams or serving as a technical lead on complex projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; capable of breaking down complex topics and guiding stakeholders through recommendations.
A commitment to developing others, fostering community, and elevating engineering quality across a growing organization.
