Position Summary

The Sales Performance Analytics Leader is a transformational people leader responsible for evolving a delivery-focused analytics team into a strategic, outcome-oriented capability that business leaders rely on to make decisions. This role will set a clear vision, challenge the status quo, and help the team adapt and evolve—strengthening accountability, prioritization, business partnership, and the quality of insights delivered across the commercial sales environment.

A key focus is to review and streamline the existing reporting portfolio, consolidating overlapping outputs, and focus resources on a smaller set of trusted dashboards, analytics products, forecasts, and AI-enabled insights that answer the most important business questions. The leader will establish product discipline, define success measures, and ensure solutions are timely, intuitive, scalable, and actively used to guide sales strategy and performance decisions.

The leader must bring experience with data, business intelligence, and analytics delivery to evaluate tradeoffs, guide technical teams, and translate complex issues for senior stakeholders. Working closely with business analysts, data engineers, BI developers, IT partners, architects, and Field leaders, the role will navigate ambiguity, build alignment, improve governance and release readiness, and create durable change in how analytics work is prioritized, developed, adopted, and measured.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary performance analytics team; set clear expectations, strengthen accountability, and build the capabilities needed to operate as strategic business partners
  • Create and execute a change agenda that moves the team from reactive report production to proactive, insight-led decision support
  • Own the analytics product portfolio and roadmap; evaluate business value, usage, overlap, and maintenance effort to consolidate or retire low-value reports and prioritize the work with the greatest impact
  • Partner with senior sales and enterprise leaders to identify the decisions analytics must enable, define meaningful KPIs, and translate priorities into a focused portfolio of decision-ready dashboards and insights
  • Ensure dashboards, forecasts, and analytics products are accurate, timely, intuitive, scalable, and trusted as sources for business planning and performance decisions
  • Establish transparent intake, prioritization, governance, and success measures that balance operational support with strategic capability building
  • Define meaningful measures for adoption, utilization, data quality, and business impact to guide continuous product improvement and demonstrate results
  • Lead stakeholders and team members through change by communicating the case for change, addressing resistance, making difficult tradeoffs, and sustaining new ways of working
  • Provide strategic oversight of the DataMart and analytics ecosystem, partnering with technical leaders on data architecture, integrations, controls, release readiness, platform stability, and responsible AI adoption
  • Represent the analytics function with executive presence, clearly communicating insights, risks, recommendations, and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sales analytics, commercial analytics, business intelligence, data products, or a related decision-support function
  • Hands-on experience in analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, dashboard development, or analytics product management
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including setting direction, developing talent, raising performance expectations, and leading an established team through significant change
  • Proven experience rationalizing a reporting or analytics portfolio by using business value, usage, and effort to prioritize, consolidate, redesign, or retire products
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders, define meaningful KPIs, frame recommendations, and turn complex analytics into clear business actions and decisions
  • Knowledge of health care, insurance, or Aetna business environment and the ability to navigate a large, matrixed organization
  • Technical fluency in data, analytics, and visualization environments—such as Salesforce, SQL, Tableau or Power BI, Excel, cloud data platforms, and AI-enabled analytics—sufficient to guide specialists, evaluate tradeoffs, and ensure sound delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading analytics, reporting, or data-product transformation within a Sales, Sales Enablement, or other complex commercial organization
  • Experience applying formal or practical change-management approaches to build stakeholder commitment, drive adoption, and sustain new operating practices

Education:

bachelor’s degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
