Lead Director – Accounting COE (BlackLine Journal Entry Project Lead)

Position Summary
The Lead Director will oversee the implementation and ongoing improvement of BlackLine Journal Entry processes across the company. This role focuses on improving financial close and reporting processes through standardization, automation, strong controls, and governance.
Working closely with Accounting, Finance, IT, Internal Audit, and business teams, this leader will:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Black Line Journal Entry capabilities.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization across accounting operations.
- Establish and manage governance, controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Lead change management efforts and promote user adoption of new processes and technology.
- Build and oversee the Black Line Journal Entry Center of Excellence (COE).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial close efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver finance transformation goals.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong accounting knowledge, systems experience, and a successful track record leading large-scale finance transformation initiatives.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or accounting systems.
- Experience leading finance transformation or system implementation projects (such as BlackLine, SAP, or Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and financial close processes.
- Experience with process improvement, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving Accounting, Finance, and IT teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA or Oracle.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- MBA preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$100,000.00 - $231,540.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
