What we’re looking for

The Lead Designer in our Authoring team is focused on delivering exceptional design craft and driving multiple workstreams autonomously. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of the survey creation flow in SurveyMonkey platform, ensuring design solutions meet both end to end user needs and business objectives. This position requires a strong combination of high-level design expertise, technical proficiency, and coordination skills to manage complex projects across teams.

What you’ll be working on

  • Develop and deliver high-quality design solutions that align with user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Partner closely with designers to ensure cohesive direction and outcomes in their work.
  • Set the UX direction for projects and maintain design consistency across all deliverables.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles in product strategy discussions.
  • Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and researchers, to ensure seamless integration of design into development processes.
  • Execute hands-on design work, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
  • Push the boundaries of creative excellence while adhering to SurveyMonkey’s design system.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to bridge the gap between design and engineering teams.
  • Ensure designs are scalable, accessible, and optimized for performance.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to validate design decisions through user testing and analytics.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 10+ years experience in the design field, most recently working as a Lead Designer or Senior Designer in product design roles.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated Design Systems expertise
  • Experience with Data implementation tools such as Amplitude, Pendo, Eppo 
  • Familiarity utilizing Jira to facilitate project tracking
  • Has worked with design teams with 4+ Product and UX designers
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional design craft across digital products.
  • Expertise in modern design tools. We use Figma.
  • Experience working within a SaaS environment is highly preferred.
