  • Mentor junior data scientists and set the standard for technical excellence and team collaboration.
  • Foster alignment with cross-functional stakeholders through consistent communication and insight-sharing.
  • Promote team effectiveness by championing good planning, process design, and best practices.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience building predictive models, running experiments, and supporting decision-making in business environments.
  • Proven expertise in Python (and/or R) and SQL; experience with modern ML and experimentation frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of measurement, causal inference, and statistical validation.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to distill complex insights to non-technical partners.
  • Familiarity with ML Ops concepts such as feature stores, retraining pipelines, and post-deployment monitoring.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, prioritize high-impact work, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working across cross-functional teams to align technical work to business goals.
  • Experience planning and sequencing team initiatives to deliver quarterly objectives.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
