Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
- Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
- Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
- Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

TIAA has an opportunity for a Lead Desktop as a Service (DaaS) Cloud Engineer. This position will be a part of our Global Infrastructure Services organization and will design and implement cloud-based virtual desktops for our organization.
As a Lead DaaS Cloud Engineer, you will have the opportunity to focus on the architecture and engineering of our Private and Public Cloud Virtual Desktop and Application environment. Your role will be accountable for building the next generation of our virtual computing infrastructure leveraging Citrix Cloud and Azure Public cloud technologies.
This is a critical role for our organization and will have a direct impact on elevating the firm’s productivity to new levels that will align to our Cloud operating model.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop on-prem and cloud-based end-to-end desktop and application virtualization architectures and designs to support emerging business needs.
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy desktop/application virtualization technologies in Public Cloud for approximately 20,000 users.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and platform owners to determine their functional needs, translating needs into public/private cloud solutions for existing or new on premises desktop/application workloads.
- Apply cloud first approach to support corporate Merger & Acquisition activities as well as IT service globalization efforts.
- Enhance and automate tasks associated with deploying, managing, supporting, transitioning workloads to the cloud.
- Assist in developing financial model for public cloud consumption.
- Participate in functional or user acceptance testing to ensure final products meets the customer's needs.
- Conduct technical exchange meetings and mentor other engineers.
- Produce internal marketing, educational, strategy material to be shared to peer engineering teams as well as business partners.
- Create test plans, installation guides, technical specifications, and SOPs as required.
- Lead in the review and research of modern technologies in response to project requirements and business needs.
- Develop implementation and support plans through migration from POC / lab through test and to production environments.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role. Demonstrated experience with desktop hardware and software. Possess knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Active Directory.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Citrix Cloud and Azure design/implementation experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of Citrix architecture/engineering experience leveraging tools such as Citrix, XenDesktop 7.x, Citrix XenApp 7.15+, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix NetScaler 11.x or higher
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with DaaS providers.
Preferred:
- Possess professional certifications with AWS, Cloud Security, Azure, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification.
- Experience designing an environment from scratch.
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy desktop/application virtualization technologies in Public Cloud for an Enterprise environment.
- Experience with enhancing and automating tasks associated with deploying, managing, supporting, transitioning workloads to the cloud.
- Experience collaborating with business partners and platform owners to determine their functional needs, translating needs into public/private cloud solutions for existing or new on premises desktop/application workloads.

2025-10-01Base Pay Range: $50.43/hr - $81.59/hrActual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
