Job Summary: 

GoldSim, a Datacor company and world leader in water resources, environmental and other engineering modeling applications, is seeking a technical and dynamic Lead Application Support Engineer to join our team and help us grow. Join us in shaping the next generation of dynamic simulation tools and push the boundaries of engineering simulation.

The Lead Application Engineer role will be the primary interface with our users who are engineers in a variety of industries. GoldSim supports decision-making and risk analysis by simulating future performance while quantitatively representing the uncertainty and risks inherent in all complex systems. Your primary responsibility will be anticipating and resolving technical and functional issues users run into with our software. In this role, you will also help develop and maintain customer-facing documentation, marketing materials, and training resources while working closely with the development team on bug fixes, testing, and bringing the voice of the customer into the product development cycle.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide excellent, proactive customer service to GoldSim customers
  • Advise the development team with QA testing during product release. 
  • Apply deep industry and product expertise to author product documentation (methods, features, procedures, workarounds) in the form of help topics, user manuals, knowledge base articles, FAQ pages, and example simulations.
  • Update and maintain training materials and lead training seminars both in person and virtually.  
  • Serve as subject matter expert to support marketing efforts through representation as a technical resource at conferences & trade shows, authoring blog posts, and developing materials for the GoldSim/Datacor website.
  • Support the Pre-Sales team by demonstrating our software to prospective customers with specific customer or industry examples.
  • Utilize customer feedback and industry expertise to partner with development & product teams to set strategy for product and advise on development imperatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related science field.
  • 5+ years’ experience using GoldSim software as a user.
  • Advanced knowledge of Monte Carlo methods and basic statistical analysis.
  • Domain knowledge in one of our core industries, including mining, water resources, environmental/radioactive waste management.
  • Analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Fast learner of technical software and an interest in understanding engineering fundamentals behind the software (what calculations are done and how results are produced)
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills and a customer-centric attitude

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years’ experience in water resource or environmental modeling field, either as an Engineer or consultant.
  • Comfortable with integration and application of AI-based tools to maximize product and individual performance.
