Description

At Tutored by Teachers (TbT), our mission is to advance equity in education. We believe that when you put a teacher in front of a student, magic happens. Backed by some of the biggest names in EdTech venture — including GSV, A-Street Ventures, and TMV — we are working to close the opportunity gap across the country.

We are looking for a dedicated, tech-savvy, and student-focused Launch Specialist to join our team and support school launches across the United States.

The Role:

As a Launch Specialist, you’ll be the on-the-ground champion ensuring our tutoring sessions run seamlessly inside classrooms. You’ll help students log in to the Tutored by Teachers platform, troubleshoot basic tech issues, and support classroom logistics so teachers and students can focus on learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the friendly face of TbT for students, teachers, and school staff.
  • Support students with logging into the TbT platform.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues during platform setup or use.
  • Ensure classroom technology (laptops, tablets, Wi-Fi) is functional and ready.
  • Provide in-person support to teachers to ensure smooth program implementation.
  • Collaborate with school staff on technology or classroom management needs.
  • Communicate regularly with TbT Engagement Managers to share updates on site progress.

This role would require paid, on site training and then travel to support our launches. We cover travel (hotels / transport) and would offer a $500 per diem rate (inclusive of your meals).

Requirements

This is an exciting opportunity if you:

  • Have experience as a classroom teacher or in a school-based role.
  • Are comfortable with technology and problem-solving on the fly.
  • Enjoy traveling and working directly with schools to make programs succeed.
Benefits
What We Offer
  • Paid, on-site training prior to launches.
  • All travel covered (flights, hotels, ground transportation).
  • $500/day per diem (includes meals and expenses).
  • A chance to make a meaningful impact on students while working with a mission-driven, innovative team.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
