KYC Manager

BitPay, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated KYC Manager to join our Compliance and Risk team and play an important role in shaping our compliance programs and ensuring BitPay remains at the forefront of compliance in the crypto space.

As a key leader, you will shape our KYC program and operations in a rapidly evolving industry, working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, VP of Customer Success, regulators, external partners, and internal teams across all functions. Your leadership will be critical in fostering strong cross-functional communication, cultivating a compliance-first culture to support the company’s growth.

Responsibilities:

• Lead our KYC Operations team by providing day-to-day oversight and mentoring the existing team
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. and global KYC laws and regulations.
• Draft and maintain the group-level KYC program and standard operating procedures.   
• Collaborate closely with the Sales team to support onboarding of global clients.
• Maintain and enhance the customer risk scoring methodology. 
• Implement and oversee the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Program. 
• Coordinate with various teams for training, escalations, and program enhancements.   
• Conduct QA on completed KYC.
• Maintain oversight of all KYC vendors.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of KYC program experience including legal entity and individual onboarding. 
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring a KYC/AML team, including day-today oversight and performance development.
• Strong operational mindset; comfortable with leading day-to-day operations for customer onboarding.
• Experience using industry-leading KYC vendors. 
• Experience working with the Product and Engineering teams on building KYC controls. 
• Strong communication skills across various levels of an organization. 
• Proficiency with Google Workspace products. 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• CAMS or CFCS
