About the role

We are searching for a driven and skilful Key Account Manager to work alongside and grow Halter’s Corporate/Enterprise customers. We’re looking for someone with commercial nous, X-factor communication skills and the ability to drive change and communicate value.

You will be managing a portfolio of large corporate farming businesses, from early roll-out through to full-scale integration with Halter technology. You will be responsible for the success and growth of Halter within these accounts.

Could be a bit of you? You’ll be an expert at building trusting relationships, identifying opportunities within a farm system to add value and enjoying driving the growth of the largest accounts. You’ll thrive in high-pressure environments, using initiative to make results happen, often against the odds. You might find yourself in a boardroom negotiating a multi-million dollar contract one day, reporting key KPI’s to a GM the next day, communicating opportunities and driving change with farm managers by Friday. You’ll masterfully navigate corporate layers, adjusting your communication at each level accordingly, to convey the right context and value to all parties. You’ll likely have deep farm systems knowledge, and have a natural ability to drive change on farm.

This isn’t a typical role. This is a high-stakes role, playing a critical role in Halter’s growth into the corporate market segment.

Aside from jumping on the Halter roller coaster, you will be making a real-world impact, making farming more productive and sustainable. You will build relationships across New Zealand's most influential farming leaders while working closely with senior leaders and the exec team within Halter.

Up for the challenge? Let’s talk.

What your day could look like

  • Customer Success: You’ll work directly with farmers, ensuring they get the most out of Halter. You’ll help them achieve their goals and show them the real impact and change Halter can have on their farming business. Your efforts will directly contribute to retaining and expanding Halter’s revenue with each account.
  • Account Management: You’ll take the lead in engaging with farmers, building genuine, long-lasting relationships. You’ll know exactly when and how to step in to help them maximise Halter’s potential for their business.
  • Executive/Board level meetings: Understanding the business structure, needs and problems of large, multi-dimensional businesses. Together with the Halter Corporate Business Development team, you will work to clearly communicate functionality, benefits and highlight value relative to each enterprise, while working through complex sales cycles.
  • Network Relationship Management: Reaching beyond our customers to those who have an impact in the farming community. You’ll be known in the Rural Professional community and continue to grow these networks to help articulate how Halter can be important for them and their customers.
  • Business Development: Work with BD members and leaders to develop and execute a comprehensive Corporate Accounts strategy for your portfolio aligned with Halter's expansion goals.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, customer success and support teams to ensure exceptional results for enterprise accounts.
  • Forecasting: Working with the Head of Corporate to enable monthly and quarterly forecasting of revenue.
  • Growth initiatives: Working with the Head of Corporate to optimise and evolve the account management strategies to accelerate growth, whilst becoming more efficient and more predictable as the company scales.

Who we’re looking for

  • A deep passion for helping farmers succeed. Experience and knowledge of dairy farm systems is a must-have.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, navigating complex accounts and expanding value over time.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally.
  • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • A hunger for success and personal growth to be able to evolve quickly alongside a world-class sales team.

  • Dog-friendly office right in the heart of Auckland city. Did we mention dogs and cows?

  • Healthy body, healthy mind. We’re partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
  • We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
  • Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
  • Our time to recharge is valued, we’re offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
