Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Junior Database Administrator to work for our company.

Summary: 

  • Client Agency is Defense Logistics Agency.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Assists with or perform Oracle Database and Oracle EBS application administration tasks, including database installation, configuration, cloning, patching (adop cycle, opatch), and upgrades.
  • Supports the implementation and maintenance of database backup and recovery procedures utilizing tools such as Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Data Guard on the Linux operating system.
  • Monitors database and application performance and assist with tuning efforts using tools like AWR, ADDM, STATSPACK, EXPLAIN PLAN, SQLTRACE, and TKPROF.
  • Learns and utilizes Oracle EBS R12 Applications DBA (AD) utilities to perform maintenance activities in a multi-node e-Business Suite environment.
  • Assists with the administration and troubleshooting of EBS components such as Concurrent Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups, and Workflows, including Workflow Mailer/Notification issues.
  • Uses monitoring tools like Oracle Application Manager (OAM) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Grid Control for proactive system status monitoring.
  • Contributes to evaluating and addressing basic Oracle EBS security issues (e.g., content, access levels) and assist with implementing recommendations.
  • Works collaboratively with business users and IT colleagues to provide database-related support and solutions.
  • Assists with ensuring the stability and performance of Oracle Applications instances and support efforts to update system capacity proactively.
  • Is a team player and contribute to project and production support, potentially requiring flexibility for different shifts.

Requirements: 

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Must have 2+ years of progressive experience with database query languages, such as Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
  • Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), specifically with Oracle Database administration.
  • Previous experience working on various operating systems, including Linux.
  • Previous experience on at least two projects.
  • Solid foundational understanding of Oracle Database administration concepts and tasks (installation, configuration, backup/recovery, tuning).

Preferences: 

  • One of the following certifications: IAT-II security certification: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, CISSA, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP
  • DFARS 252.239-7001 Information Assurance Contractor Training and Certification.
  • One of the following certifications: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Foundations 2020 Certified Associate, Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), Oracle WebLogic Server 12c Administrator, Oracle Java SE 8 Programmer I, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Essentials (OEM 12c), Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP) 12c R1: Fundamentals, Oracle Planning 202x Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), and Oracle Identity Governance 12c: Essentials.
  • Previous experience working with or supporting database environments in a DoD or federal setting.
  • Previous experience with Oracle AD/ADOP utilities. 
  • Previous experience with RMAN and Data Guard.
