The Role:
As a Jr. Data Scientist (Contract), you will work closely with our product and data team to provide insights that drive decision-making and strategy. You will dive deep into data, using advanced programming techniques to collect, process, and analyze information from a variety of sources, including customer feedback, online behavior, market trends, and operational efficiency metrics.
This contract assignment is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions will not only influence strategic decisions but also help shape the culture of data-driven excellence within the company.
Scope of Work Duties:
- Collect, process, and clean data from various sources, including customer surveys, market research, and internal processes.
- Create visualizations/reports in Tableau and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage extract refreshes and automated report distribution in Tableau.
- Perform data validation and document discrepancies for the engineering team.
- Support the development of AI/ML models for lead scoring, pricing strategies, and process improvement.
- Set up and manage ETL jobs in Databricks and Postgres.
- Optimize database structures and relationships to improve data retrieval and storage efficiency.
What you Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree program in a quantitative discipline
- 2-3 years of experience or academic course work using Python, SQL, R, or other programming languages for data analysis
- Familiar with data visualization and dashboarding tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Exposure to statistics and/or AI/ML models
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized self-starter
- Works well in a collaborative, team environment
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain structure to set processes
- Critical thinking and problem solving
