Job Description
We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Customer Solutions Engineer to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who’s eager to get hands-on experience in technical implementation, problem-solving, and customer-facing configuration work – all while learning how real-world software platforms are built and supported.
You’ll work within the PolicyFly platform to build and update the logic that powers our customers’ insurance programs, including:
• Generating documents using Word templates (docxtemplater)
• Managing customer-facing forms using configuration in Typescript
• Writing business rules using simple scripts in Lua
• Occasionally helping build ETL scripts to load customer data into our reporting systems
• Making customer dreams come true 🌈🦄
Position Details
- Type: Full-time (after paid trial period)
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: $55-$75k DOE and location (full-time position); $20 - $30/hr for paid trial period
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and update customer logic across documents, forms, and rating rules
- Use and extend templates for policy documents (via .docx and templating syntax)
- Implement and test scripted business logic (e.g., Lua rating functions)
- Make customer-facing form changes using Typescript config
- Help triage and fix live customer issues or change requests
- Build or adapt data import scripts to load customer data into our reporting systems
- Learn fast, take initiative, and grow into owning full onboarding projects over time
Required Skills
- Solid Microsoft Word skills (especially tables, formatting, structure)
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfort with logical thinking and conditional logic
- Experience with programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Lua, Typescript, etc.)
- Clear written and verbal communication (we’re remote)
- A self-starter mindset with a hunger to learn
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Git/version control
- Experience using VS Code or similar editors
- Hands-on exposure to scripting or simple automation (even in school or side projects)
- Understanding of how data flows through systems (ETL, APIs, etc.)
- Insurance industry or documentation experience
