Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change,  based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.  

Design and implement new systems and features, as well as modify and maintain existing systems for adaptation to business and/or technology changes. Engages directly with IT management, development teams, technical delivery teams, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of technology-based solutions. 

Drive the software change and release management processes, assisting with the overall maturity of the software development and infrastructure lifecycle. Work independently, ensuring that software and hardware deliverables comply with architecture and security standards, while maintaining quality and safety.
 

Essential Functions: 

•    Typically viewed as subject-matter expert within discipline – Configuring, integrating and supporting highly available critical vendor software packages and infrastructure.
•    Designs, develops, tests, coordinates, implements, maintains and administers IT Infrastructure and critical applications
•    Analyzes business/technical related needs and propose suitable solutions
•    Creates processes and tools to enhance and streamline support and maintenance procedures.  Maintain revisions to existing systems and procedures.
•    Conducts product research and evaluation
•    Has expert knowledge to support applications and troubleshoot complex issues – Control & Monitoring Systems (SCADA Control Systems, LNG/LPG Plants, SQL DBA experience a plus)
•    Work effectively, coaches, reviews, and delegates work to other team members; Mentors junior engineers.
•    Influences others regarding company policies, practices, and procedures.
•    Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on work area.
•    Contributes to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).
•    Provides oversight to moderately sized projects or processes with moderate impact on the achievement of discipline results.
•    Provides measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans to implement business strategies.
•    Takes ownership and accountability of tasks to drive successful delivery.
•    Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of work area.
•    Communicates with parties within and outside of own discipline.
•    May have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.).
•    Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill: 

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and teamwork skills

  • Good oral/written communications skills.

  • Proven track record of producing quality work, following standards, while having a desire to learn and apply new skills

  • Understanding of applications, theories, and concepts in the field.  General knowledge of other related disciplines.   

  • Knowledge of operating system(s) and relevant software and hardware products, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, performance tuning and capacity planning

  • Maintains awareness of industry trends, policies & tools, standards, and best practices

  • Possesses working knowledge in one or more areas – Control Systems, Microsoft stack, VMWare (ESX, VMs), IT Security, Databases (MS SQL), Networks, Firewalls, PowerShell, Backup & Recovery.

  • Change management: Enhance end-to-end Testing procedures of changes being deployed

  • Leads, mentors and coaches’ team where applicable, can be trusted with team decisions.

  • Contributes to documentation required to maintain our critical systems.

  •  Vendor management: manage vendor relationships, resources and priorities

  •  Implements proactive monitoring and automation: tools/scripting to automate tasks, enhance and simplify support and proactively address issues to minimize business impacts

  •  Shows inclusiveness by respecting different opinions, acknowledging input and recognizing unconscious biases.

Education:    

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Advanced Degree in a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience

  • Requires expert knowledge of work area, typically obtained through education combined with experience. May have broad knowledge of project management. Works to influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

$97,110.00-$107,900.00
