The Opportunity:
As an IT Specialist for MassMutual Federal Credit Union (MMFCU), you will be a valued member of a supportive, diverse, and skilled team. All MMFCU team members are committed to delivering a consistent and memorable experience to our members and potential members. You will be responsible for supporting the credit union's internal technology needs, focusing on core banking systems, credit union-specific applications, and coordination with our managed service provider (MSP). This role is ideal for a tech-savvy individual eager to grow in a financial services environment, with a strong interest in learning credit union operations and technology.
The Team:
This team is made up of a Chief Operating Officer, an Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, a Business Data Analyst and an Operations Specialist. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the team is expected to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with other business units within the organization and adhere to the corporate values of the credit union.
The Impact:
The following duties for this position are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:
  • Assist with daily operations, troubleshooting, and user support for the credit union's core banking system.

  • Provide basic support and maintenance for credit union-specific applications (e.g., lending platforms, digital banking tools, document imaging systems).

  • Act as a liaison between internal staff and the MSP to ensure timely resolution of IT issues and service requests.

  • Respond to help desk tickets related to software, hardware, and peripheral devices; escalate issues to MSP when necessary.

  • Monitor system performance and uptime for critical applications; report anomalies to appropriate teams.

  • Maintain accurate records of IT procedures, system configurations, and support tickets.

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives by ensuring compliance with IT policies and assisting with user training.

  • Participate in IT-related projects, including system upgrades, new technology rollouts, and vendor evaluations.

  • Performs responsibilities in accordance with all Credit Union standards, policies and procedures.

  • Assists in the purchasing, inventorying and tracking of IT inventory.

  • Be fully committed to the organization's values of practicing positivity, being proactive & progressive, cultivating collaboration, growing & guiding, and being adaptable & resourceful.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in IT/technology or 2+ years of experience in a similar or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.

  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.

  • Knowledge of the products and services of the credit union, and the rules and regulations governing the teller operations.

  • Knowledge of credit union IT and core systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

  • Understanding of disaster recovery and server backup procedures.
