BAE Systems, Inc. Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) is looking for an experienced and results-driven Portfolio Director to join our team, overseeing technology programs and projects for our Space & Mission Systems sector. The role will report into our ESS Project Management Office (PMO) with dotted line accountability to the SMS Business Technology Officer (BTO).
Key responsibilities include:
The candidate shall be highly customer focused, meeting customer expectation and responsive to feedback. The ideal candidate shall leverage servant leadership, emotional intelligence, strong communication and decision making skills to navigate effectively across all functional areas and organizational levels.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 12 years work experience.
- Minimum 10 years direct experience leading complex technology programs as a Project or Program Manager.
- PMP Certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

BAE Systems, Inc. Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) is looking for an experienced and results-driven Portfolio Director to join our team, overseeing technology programs and projects for our Space & Mission Systems sector. The role will report into our ESS Project Management Office (PMO) with dotted line accountability to the SMS Business Technology Officer (BTO).
Key responsibilities include:
- Acts as the primary liaison between the PMO and the BTO organization in shaping project demands to successfully execute against sector IT roadmaps. Understand the short- and long-term roadmaps for the portfolio and adjust execution plans as priorities change.
- Collaborate across business and technology functions to monitor dependencies and provide centralized visibility across the initiatives.
- Provide IT functional leaders with demand views that enable the ability to appropriately plan resource assignments and needs and understand demand versus capacity.
- Manage issues and risks within the portfolio. Make key tradeoff decisions to do the "right" thing for the portfolio, considering all perspectives.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in the execution and efficiency of workflow across methodologies and frameworks within the portfolio.
- Serve as a member of the PMO leadership team, accountable for collaborating with peers and business partner to shape the PMO roadmap to meet future organizational needs. Stay current with business and technology trends. Champion change and innovation and socialize a forward-thinking roadmap.
- Supervise a team of Project Managers in successful delivery of sector technology projects. Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support of team members.
- Supports organizational and ESS leadership in overseeing, managing and applying the BAE Life-Cycle Management framework to achieve the organization's goals and objectives.

- Expertise in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

- Masters degree.
