Role Overview
As we’ve grown with more users and a larger team, the operations required to keep our team and systems running on the IT side have grown beyond the scope of what our CTO and VP of Engineering can manage on their own. As our first full time IT hire, your role will be broad in scope and provide for ownership across both IT and Security within Brigit. You’ll work closely in conjunction with our CTO and VP of Engineering to develop our IT Strategy, and then execute on it by managing our systems, consolidating platforms, and automating where necessary.

*This is a full-time role which will operate out of Brigit’s New York office, with the option to work remotely 2 days a week. 

What you'll be doing

  • Day to day IT Operations

    • Working with our MSP to provision hardware and software for employees

    • Develop & improve documentation covering core IT processes and architecture

    • Review and update our IT Risk assessment on a quarterly basis

    • Ensure compliance and consistent adherence to our existing IT policies and procedures

  • IT Audit Management & Support

    • Work closely with our compliance team as the point person for managing our third party IT audits (PCI, SOC II, PenTests etc)

    • Plan out remediation for issues found within those audits

  • Security Infrastructure & Operations:

    • Implement security measures for software, hardware, and cloud-based infrastructure.

    • Oversee identity and access management protocols and ensure robust controls are in place.

    • Manage security tools and systems such as firewalls, SIEM, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

  • Collaboration & Training:

    • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and product teams to ensure security is baked into development processes.

    • Conduct internal security training to promote security awareness across the company.

    • Engage with external partners, vendors, and third-party auditors to assess and improve security posture.

What you have

  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with 2+ years at a fast-growing tech company or startup environment required

  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (ideally GCP).

  • Experience managing an IDP Platform such as Okta

  • Experience managing a managed service provider (MSP)

  • Exposure to IT Audits such as SOC II and Penetration Tests

  • Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or similar.

  • Experience with implementing security tools and monitoring systems.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Ability to balance long-term strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational needs.

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $135,000 - $160,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible (other benefits listed below). The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
