The IT Manager is a high-impact, high-ownership role responsible for transforming 1upHealth's IT operations. As part of a collaborative, high-achieving team spanning cloud infrastructure, security operations, and governance & risk, you'll have the opportunity to reimagine how IT supports our people. The ideal candidate knows that great IT isn't about closing the most tickets, it's about building the processes and systems that stop them from opening in the first place. If you're energized about raising the bar for what IT can be, this role was made for you. This role is a hybrid role and will require 1-2 days per week in our Boston office.
In this role, you'll get to:- Own end-to-end IT operations as the primary point of contact for all helpdesk, break/fix, and escalation support across the organization.

- Deliver consistent, reliable day-to-day support while carving out time to build the processes and infrastructure that reduce future work.
- Build and maintain operational dashboards and reporting covering service performance, asset health, endpoint compliance, and license utilization.
- Lead IT contributions to SOC 2 and HITRUST audit readiness, maintaining rigorous documentation, evidence collection, and control accuracy throughout the year.
- Identify and drive automation and process improvement opportunities to reduce manual effort and increase operational maturity.
- Coordinate procurement of hardware, software, and services, managing purchase orders, invoices, and vendor performance in alignment with finance and budget requirements.
- 8+ years of experience in IT operations, desktop/endpoint support, or enterprise IT engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a solo IT practitioner or small team lead, with strong ownership mentality and minimal need for direction
- Hands-on experience with endpoint management platforms such as Jamf, CrowdStrike.
- Experience administering an identity provider (Okta strongly preferred) with a high degree of accuracy and a security-first access management philosophy.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Leadership.
- Proven track record supporting compliance audits (SOC 2, HITRUST, or equivalent), including evidence gathering, control documentation, and gap remediation.
- Security-by-design mindset, incorporating security into day-to-day operations rather than treating it as an afterthought.
- HIPAA / HITRUST / SOC 2 / NIST framework experience in a healthcare or health-tech environment.
- Experience building and scaling IT processes from the ground up in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
- Familiarity with FHIR-based or healthcare data platforms and the unique compliance requirements they carry.
