Where You Fit

As an Associate Director, IT, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless technology support for our organization. You’ll lead a talented IT team, providing IT solutions to support the business and  IT solutions to support the business and technical support  to employees, resolving issues, and optimizing our IT systems. Your expertise in IT infrastructure, Google Workspace and Okta SSO will be essential in maintaining a secure and efficient work environment.

****This role is a hybrid role. We are looking for someone who can commute to our office in Fenway several days a week.

What You’ll Do
  1. Team Leadership:
    1. Manage and mentor a team of help desk technicians.
    2. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
    3. Foster a collaborative and customer-focused team culture.
    4. Contribute to setting the IT Strategy for the company as well and maintaining the IT Roadmap.
  2. Technical Support:
    1. Oversee the help desk operations, ensuring timely resolution of user inquiries and technical issues.
    2. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
    3. Coordinate with other IT teams to escalate complex issues when necessary.
  3. Google Workspace Administration:
    1. Maintain Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for our organization.
    2. Configure user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
    3. Collaborate with HR and other departments to onboard new employees.
  4. Okta SSO Integration:
    1. Manage Okta SSO integration with Google Workspace.
    2. Set up SAML-based SSO for seamless authentication.
    3. Automate user provisioning and deprovisioning.
  5. Security and Compliance:
    1. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
    2. Monitor user access and permissions.
    3. Participate in security audits and risk assessments.
  6. Vendor Management:
    1. Work closely with vendors, including Google and Okta, to resolve technical issues and optimize services.
    2. Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance productivity.
  7. Documentation and Training:
    1. Maintain accurate documentation for IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
    2. Conduct training sessions for end-users on Google Workspace and Okta SSO.

This role has scope for additional leadership.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CompTIA, Google Workspace Administrator, Okta Certified Administrator (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in IT Operations and Support, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace administration and Okta SSO.
    • Experience with MacOS Macbook Pro, Apple devices, and Apple Device Management (JAMF).
    • Experience with Windows Server or Linux
    • Cloud experience with either AWS or Azure.
    • Networking including LAN, VPN, and Wifi. Ubiquiti or other WiFi Mesh controller a plus.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    • Slack, Zoom administration experience a plus
