Job DescriptionWe are looking for an IT Manager, Data Platform Engineering to join our growing team! In this role, you will lead the enterprise data platform's development, scaling, and reliability. You will oversee a team of engineers focused on building and maintaining core data infrastructure, enabling scalable data ingestion, processing, and access across the organization. You will work closely with Data Engineering, AI/ML, Analytics, and IT stakeholders to deliver a robust, self-service, and cloud-native platform that powers real-time and batch data workloads. In this position, you will be a critical component in driving data platform automation, observability, and operational excellence, ensuring our data foundation is secure, reliable, and future-ready.
As an IT Manager, Data Platform Engineering, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the design, development, and management of the company's data platforms, ensuring that data is accessible, secure, and well-governed
- Develop and execute strategies for the utilization, storage, and accessibility of data in GCP
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the data warehouse, ensuring its optimal performance and scalability
- Oversee the deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models, ensuring they are delivering actionable insights and adding value to business processes
- Track the performance of AI models in production and iterate for improvements based on business needs and feedback
- Experience in handling CI/CD integrations with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and deploying infrastructure and applications on GCP
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop solutions to meet business needs
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts, providing guidance and support
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to build and scale AI solutions
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in GCP, data warehousing, and cloud services
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in managing data platforms, preferably in a cloud-based environment with a focus on GCP and data warehousing, designing, building, and supporting real-time and batch data pipeline and analytical solutions
- 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Information Management, with at least 2 years of people management experience
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and relevant certifications (e.g., Google Professional Data Engineer) would be a significant advantage
- Strong knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data integration, and automation.
- Expertise in data warehouse technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make data-driven decisions
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interactions
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.) for data manipulation and analysis
- Expertise in AI/ML algorithms, frameworks, and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with cloud-based machine learning platforms (e.g., Google AI, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker)
