ABOUT THE ROLE

As the IT/Cyber Operations Sr. Manager, you will serve as the senior operational authority responsible for the strategy, execution, and sustainment of IT and Cybersecurity services across a complex portfolio of geographically dispersed sites. This role is critical in bridging the gap between mission requirements and technical execution, ensuring that both unclassified and classified environments remain secure, compliant, and highly available.

You will lead a distributed team of professionals to manage multi-domain networks, oversee site activations, and drive operational excellence through automation and standardized service delivery. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader who can balance the urgency of mission-critical operations with the rigor of federal compliance frameworks.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a site-specific roadmap for IT infrastructure and cybersecurity that aligns with Nooks' long-term business goals and CIaaS delivery model.
  • Provide direct oversight, mentorship, and performance management for the IT Site Lead, Cybersecurity Lead, and junior specialists. Foster technical growth and leadership capabilities within your team.
  • Establish and enforce local security protocols and incident response plans in alignment with corporate policy and federal frameworks (NIST, DAAPM, JSIG, ISO 27001, or SOC2).
  • Oversee the lifecycle of site hardware, software, and networking assets to ensure maximum efficiency, minimal downtime, and rigorous configuration management.
  • Manage third-party service providers and oversee the IT/Cyber departmental budget, prioritizing high-ROI security and tech investments.
  • Lead local response efforts for outages or security events while maintaining clear, disciplined communication channels with corporate leadership.
  • Transition seamlessly from strategy to execution, providing direct technical assistance during complex troubleshooting, peak project demands, or system migrations.

THE SKILLSET:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT/Cyber operations with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven track record operating mission-critical, multi-site environments within the DoD or highly regulated sectors.
  • Deep expertise in NIST 800-171, RMF, CMMC, JSIG, and Zero-Trust architectures.
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Networking, Multi-OS (Windows/macOS), and M365/Google Workspace.
  • Ability to balance mission urgency with rigorous security and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues for executive-level mission leaders.

COMPENSATION

  • This role is between $170,000 - $200,000 base salary

ELIGIBILITY + CLEARANCE + EDUCATION

  • You must be a US citizen + have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level III certification (CISSP, CISM, or GSLC) strongly preferred.
