Job Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide system administration and end user support for the Plastcoat user community
- Ensure user community has the necessary skill sets to make effective use of the tools available to them
- Responsible for ensuring Plastcoat remains current with regards to software versions, system patches and Magna standards
- Provide support to user community, ensuring users have the tools they need to do their jobs, and that these tools are working effectively
- Ensure the smooth functioning of the network (workstations, file servers, email, etc.)
- Respond to shop floor when paged. Fix printer, scanner and computer issues
- Deploy new hardware as required (ie. Label printers, computers/tablets, scanners, etc)
- Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
- Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
- Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
- Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
- Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
- Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
- Perform other duties as required
EDUCATION:
- University student aspiring to work in the I.T. field
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, MS Office Suite, and hardware troubleshooting
SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, networking technologies, office information systems, label printers, laser printers, desktops, laptops, Netapp and virtual infrastructure
- Knowledge of server computer technologies and relational database architectures (i.e. Windows Server, SQL Server, VMware)
- Knowledge of network cabling standards and architectures (cabling, switches, protocols etc.)
- Ability to lift 40lbs; required to deploy heavy label printers
- Required to possess mature, consistent attitude towards responsibilities of job position
- Familiar with manufacturing methods and systems
