We are seeking a strategic and analytical Senior Vice President to join our Investment Strategy team, focusing on private markets and hedge funds. This individual will be responsible for leading timely alternative asset class and macroeconomic research, developing and presenting both qualitative and quantitative insights, and contributing to broader Investment team initiatives including but not limited to model portfolio, portfolio technology, and fund development. This role will be pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of our alternatives platform and delivering insights that empower our clients to achieve their investment objectives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct in-depth market research and macroeconomic analysis to inform investment strategy on alternative asset classes
  • Identify, evaluate and communicate new investment opportunities in private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds
  • Develop thought leadership materials, whitepapers, and insights on private markets and hedge fund trends, themes, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the overall vision and direction of the alternatives platform
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Distribution teams to develop educational content and webinars for financial advisors
  • Present investment strategies, market outlooks, and product solutions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in alternatives, representing CAIS at industry events and conferences 

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of direct experience in investment strategy, research, or portfolio management with a focus on private markets and hedge funds
  • Strong knowledge of alternative investments, including private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge fund strategies
  • Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and clients
  • Proficiency in Excel-based analytics and investment research tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
