Purpose of the role
Support the business through production of marketing and client service materials, execution of marketing strategies supporting the group’s products and brand and working with client service professionals to respond to sales and client questions.
Specific responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of products and strategies offered by Man’s core investment engines (AHL, FRM, GLG, Numeric and GPM)
- Assist with production of marketing materials including presentations, summaries, stat sheets and standard reporting
- Assist with marketing initiatives which may include events, webcasts, PR, sponsorships and advertising
- Assist with the development and implementation of marketing strategies
- Assist with the development and implementation of product launches and marketing strategy
- Build solid internal relationships and partnerships with Man global staff including portfolio managers, sales staff, marketing professionals, compliance and legal professionals and operations
- Understand where to source information within Man and perform quantitative analyses where required to produce materials
- Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to resolve client and product marketing issues
- Assist with the development and implementation of team processes
Key competencies
- Understanding of financial markets and performance statistics, understanding of the asset management industry and the hedge fund industry
- Ability to quickly learn strategies, markets, statistics and legal and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with production and lay-out of financial presentations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand investment strategies and translate those to compelling marketing materials
- Ability to work with a variety of people in the organisation to coordinate projects and reach agreement on issues
- Ability to represent Man to external parties including clients
- Effective organisation and project management skills
- Ability to work to short deadlines and to manage various projects concurrently
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel and ability to learn other proprietary or external software utilised by Man
