Liatrio is a boutique consulting firm that helps enterprises deliver software faster, safer and more efficiently. Our work is dual mode: engineering delivery and people enablement. We lead DevOps transformations in many different industries, anywhere from financial institutions to healthcare providers to the department of defense.

As Liatrio continues to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Internal IT Manager to support our fully distributed team by keeping our systems secure, our laptops configured, and our employees set up for success from day one.

Role Summary:
The Internal IT Manager is the first point of contact for all things technical at Liatrio. You’ll handle everything from laptop setup and configuration to troubleshooting issues with connectivity, accounts, and software tools.

This role is all about getting things done — making sure every employee has the tools, access, and support they need to do their best work in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Device Setup & Configuration:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Liatrio laptops and hardware — purchasing, imaging, shipping, and reclaiming devices as employees join or leave.
  • Configure and maintain macOS and Windows devices using MDM solutions
  • Ensure all devices are properly enrolled, encrypted, and compliant with company security policies.
  • Maintain a current inventory of all hardware and software assets.
  • Employee Onboarding & Offboarding:
  • Set up new hires with the right accounts, permissions, and tools before their first day
  • Provide clear, friendly onboarding guidance and one-on-one help when needed
  • Manage access removal and device recovery during offboarding
  • Keep process documentation up-to-date to ensure a consistent experience for every employee
  • Automate onboarding/offboarding workflows using scripting or workflow tools
  • Help Desk & Troubleshooting
  • Be the go-to person for employee IT issues — from password resets and VPN access to software installs and Zoom audio problems
  • Provide fast, empathetic, and clear support via Slack, Zoom, or ticketing tools
  • Troubleshoot across multiple systems: Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and more
  • Track common issues and proactively address recurring pain points.4.
  • Systems & Access Management
  • Administer and maintain internal SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.).
  • Manage group memberships, distribution lists, and SSO access
  • Maintain and document internal IT configurations, including automation scripts, access requests, and permission workflows
  • Monitor for inactive accounts, license waste, or access anomolies
  • Assist in evaluation and procurement of additional systems and tools as needed.5.
  • Security, Maintenance, Recovery
  • Ensure MFA, encryption, and patching are always enforced
  • Monitor for software updates and push them via MDM or remote management tools
  • Assist with periodic security audits and compliance checks
  • Coordinate with external vendors for warranty or hardware service needs.
  • Develop and implement backup and restoration plans as appropriate.

Who You Are:

  • 4–7 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or internal IT management for teams of 50-200+ employees
  • Comfortable troubleshooting macOS and Windows laptops, VPN, and SaaS applications
  • Familiar with device management
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, SSO, and identity management
  • Excellent communicator — calm, clear, and friendly when solving problems
  • Passionate about helping others and keeping things running smoothly and automating things as much as possible
  • Thrives in a remote-first environment and can manage logistics across time zones.

What Success Looks Like

  • Every new hire receives their laptop and credentials on time and can get to work on day one
  • Common IT issues are resolved quickly and documented clearly
  • Devices stay compliant, updated, and secure with minimal downtime
  • Employees describe IT as responsive, reliable, and easy to work with.

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)

  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
