Datadog is seeking an Internal Communications Program Manager to help employees get the most out of our internal communications ecosystem. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally to define, promote, and uphold standards that ensure Datadogs can easily find the information they need, when they need it. You’ll collaborate with Enterprise IT, Operations, People, Legal, and other teams to keep our intranet and internal communication channels accurate, accessible, and up-to-date. You’ll develop new tools and optimize existing ones to support companywide communication objectives, and you’ll use data from our systems to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager of Internal Communications.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture, the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What you’ll do

  • Define and enforce governance frameworks and best practices for internal communication platforms (Confluence, Slack, Google Groups, Zoom Digital Signage, etc.).
  • Lead efforts to maintain a clean, accurate, and up-to-date companywide intranet.
  • Establish and promote companywide standards for internal documentation, including naming conventions, metadata, update cadences, and more.
  • Convene and lead a cross-functional stakeholder council to champion communications best practices and address team-specific needs.
  • Design and implement advanced workflows, automations, and integrations (APIs, webhooks, scripting, add-on architecture) that support communication and knowledge-management objectives.
  • Analyze platform usage and trends, leveraging data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform strategy.
  • Partner with teams such as Enterprise IT to ensure that content is sourced correctly and represented consistently across tools.
  • Create documentation, training, and enablement materials for key technologies.

Who you are:

  • Experienced (8+ years) in managing an enterprise intranet or knowledge-management system, including advanced Confluence features.
  • Have excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills: you can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, lead workshops or training, and partner cross-functionally.
  • Energized by learning new tools and technologies in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Skilled in Slack administration, including group management, auditing, and monitoring.
  • A strong writer with solid editorial judgment and experience in an editorial or content-quality role.
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to drive strategic content and operational decisions.
  • Familiar with technical writing, documentation, information architecture, library sciences, system administration, or data management.
  • Though not required, experience in system administration, software development, or scripting is preferred.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about communication, technology, and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Best-in-breed onboarding
  • Generous global benefits
  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
  • An inclusive company culture, able to join our Community Guilds and Inclusion Talks

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
