Shield AI is seeking an Internal Communications Manager to lead communications for enterprise priorities, organizational change, and ongoing employee communications. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, this hands-on role will develop and execute communication plans that help employees understand company priorities, changes affecting their work, and the actions they need to take. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, project manager, and communications partner who can manage multiple workstreams, anticipate employee questions, and bring structure and high judgment to a fast-moving environment.
What you'll do:
- Plan and deliver communications for assigned change initiatives, including Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and integration activity, organizational changes, and People programs.
- Write and edit employee communications across channels, including announcements, FAQs, talking points, manager toolkits, presentations, intranet news, and Teams communications.
- Turn complex or incomplete information into clear communications that explain what is changing and anticipate questions, concerns, and points of confusion.
- Manage communications plans, calendars, project trackers, reviews, approvals, and delivery timelines across multiple projects.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align messaging, timing, audiences, and delivery channels.
- Support leadership communications as assigned, including company meetings, leadership updates, talking points, presentations, and announcements.
- Flag communications risks and employee-impacts early; recommend solutions and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Gather and synthesize employee feedback and sentiment to inform message refinement.
Required qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in internal, change, or corporate communications, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, copy-editing, and presentation-development skills, with close attention to detail.
- Experience developing communications for acquisitions, integrations, organizational change, technology transformation, People programs, or other large-scale business changes.
- Demonstrated experience managing communications plans, timelines, stakeholders, reviews, and deliverables across multiple projects.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and presenting communications plans, recommendations, or materials to executive audiences.
- Experience developing employee communications that explain change clearly, answer expected questions, and build trust through transparency.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, plus collaboration or project-management tools.
- Experience working in a high-growth technology, aerospace, defense, or other complex and regulated environment.
