Intermodal Logistics Coordinator

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide quotes and routes for inland container movements; secure rates; facilitate inland movement of containers via Rail, Truck, Barge; setting up invoices in SAP, transmitting rail bills.  

Main Tasks:

 Provide accurate quotes/rates for intermodal freight, bids and spot business. 

 Support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding the most cost effective and efficient routing for new and existing business.

 Recommend changes in routing when alternate routes are preferred.

 Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes.

 Update ZIMAPS quarterly and for missing costs as needed.

 Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship. Create routes when auto routing is missing, expired, or not logical.

 Update costs in routes when missing.

 Manage changes to specific vendors/routing in day to day as required.

 Execute & manage rail billings, and resolve problems as they arise.

o Optimize Inland Routing

o Timely response to Commercial Team Routing Requests

o Usage of least expensive trucker 

• High School Degree, Bachelor’s (a plus).  

• 3 years’ experience preferred in various LOG operating positions. 

• Logistics / Operation experience in Container Shipping industry (a plus).
