Vicarious Surgical is seeking an Integration & Testing Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Waltham, MA.

Vicarious Surgical is a next generation robotics company developing a disruptive technology with the goal of increasing the efficiency of surgical procedure, improving patient outcomes, and reducing healthcare costs. 

This is a terrific opportunity for an Engineering student to join our company at a very exciting time and be a member of a team of mission-driven and kind individuals with diverse experiences to lead Vicarious into its next phase of hyper-growth and market disruption. 

Team Focus

As an engineering intern, you will be exposed to all aspects of our surgical system including software, controls, and electrical and mechanical hardware. You will help us bring up, tune, and test different robotic subsystems (arms, cameras, surgeon console etc), improve and automate these processes, and help run subsystem or system-wide tests, including using our robot to perform different surgical procedures ex-vivo.

Project Work

  • Bring up, test, and tune new robotic hardware.
  • Write software to improve and automate robot calibration, bring up, and testing.
  • Develop test methods, write test protocols, execute testing and write final reports for new robotic hardware.
  • Coordinate with the relevant engineering team to help resolve subsystem problems.

About You

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in robotics, electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with 3D modeling and CAD, Solidworks preferred.
  • Hands on experience building and debugging electromechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of feedback control systems.
  • Cross-disciplinary project experience (Personal, academic or professional. Please make sure to link to videos of any cool robots or projects you’ve worked on).
