Reports To: Manager, Technical Services
Location: Remote (US-Based)

Role Overview:
The Integration Specialist is the core technical builder within our Delivery organization. Operating as part of the Technical Services team, you are responsible for establishing and maintaining the critical data connections between our platform and our clients’ internal systems (e.g., HRIS, CRM, Identity Providers). You will execute complex historical data migrations, configure Single Sign-On (SSO), build API connections, and establish automated SFTP data feeds. Working closely with Implementation Managers and Customer Support, you act as the backend technical expert, ensuring client data flows securely, accurately, and seamlessly.

 Key Responsibilities

1. Data Architecture & Migration

  • Execute complex, large-scale historical data imports for new clients during the implementation phase, ensuring strict data hygiene and accurate field mapping.
  • Build, configure, and test automated data feeds (via SFTP or API) to ensure daily user syncs and structural updates flow seamlessly from the client’s system of record into our platform.
  • Audit client-provided data files, identify formatting errors or logic gaps, and advise Implementation Managers on necessary corrections before ingestion.

2. Authentication & API Configuration

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations (e.g., SAML 2.0, OIDC) working directly with client IT teams to ensure secure and seamless user access.
  • Set up standard out-of-the-box API integrations, validating payloads, monitoring endpoints, and ensuring data is passing accurately between connected platforms.

3. Triage & Technical Troubleshooting

  • Serve as the Tier 3 technical escalation point for the Customer Support and Implementation teams.
  • Investigate and resolve broken data feeds, failed API calls, and SSO certificate expirations, diagnosing root causes within system logs and database queries.
  • Communicate highly technical issues or required fixes in clear, digestible terms back to front-line teams or directly to client IT stakeholders.

4. Automation & Process Improvement

  • Actively identify repetitive, manual tasks within the provisioning and data migration processes and build scripts or tooling to automate them.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for configuring specific partner integrations, contributing to the internal Knowledge Base to help front-line teams triage basic issues.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Technical SLA Adherence: Percentage of integration setup and troubleshooting tickets completed within the agreed-upon internal timeframe.
  • First-Time Quality (Defect Rate): Percentage of integrations or data migrations that launch without requiring post-live technical corrections or rework.
  • Data Feed Uptime: Stability and error-free execution rate of automated client data syncs.
  • Velocity: Average time spent configuring standard integrations and provisioning environments.
The Ideal Profile
  • The System Whisperer: You are highly proficient with data formatting and transfer protocols (SQL, JSON, CSV, REST APIs, SFTP) and understand how disparate systems talk to one another.
  • The Detail Fanatic: You understand that a single mismatched data header or broken API token can disrupt thousands of users. You test your work rigorously before marking a ticket "Complete."
  • The Focused Executor: You thrive in a ticket-driven, asynchronous workflow. You enjoy putting on your headphones, diving into the backend logs, and solving the puzzle without needing to be the "face" of the project to the client.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
