LOCATION:                     168 Third Ave Waltham, MA 02451

TITLE:                             Instruments Sales Representative III

HOURS:                           Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES:                           • Support the Genetic Analysis portfolio, delivering high-value genomic data to aid crucial decisions in research and applied markets. This includes Quantitative PCR, Sanger Sequencing, Digital PCR, Human Identification, Microarray, and AgriGenomics.

  • Pursue new sales opportunities by efficiently establishing strong business relationships with current and future client base.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned geographic territory forecast.
  • Lead a specialist team to exceed capital instrument and reagent sales goals.
  • Collaborate with customers to drive instrument sales within the New York City territory.
  • Contribute to Thermo Fisher Scientific's profits through selling qPCR, CE, and dPCR instruments to researchers

TRAVEL:                          Up to 50% domestic and international travel required. Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:            MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field of study.

MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 2 years of experience as a Genetic Sciences Inside Sales Specialist, Field Applications or a related occupation.

Alternative Education and Experience Requirement: None

Required knowledge or experience with:

  • Leads sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of Salesforce system and other designated IT tools;
  • Capital sales competence;
  • Scientific project and business needs of the customer to position a GA solution (qPCR and/or Digital PCR and/or sequencing and/or microarray) to win the business; and
  • Selling experience in industrial and federal government accounts.
