What You’ll Do
As Instructional Designer, you’ll play a key role in providing analysis of learning needs and systematic development of instruction for distance learning.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead and work directly with faculty and teams in the design and development of online/hybrid courses in a wide array of disciplines. Facilitate the enhancement of existing online/hybrid curriculum and online instructional materials with a focus on quality, effective instructional design, universal design, and accessibility. Design and develop learning objects and provide project management for distance learning. Facilitate the design, development and integration of multimedia support materials for use in online, hybrid, and face to face courses. Work closely with the faculty and staff of the assigned academic divisions and other areas relative to the needs of the Center for Distance Learning. Consult with faculty on enhancing distance learning courses through: pedagogical improvements, course design that contributes to online community, training faculty on the managerial aspects of teaching online, and the technical design of online courses.

  • Survey and/or interview faculty and staff to obtain information on curriculum and instructional materials needed for instructional technology projects and the advancement of distance learning. Create, coordinate, and facilitate workshops and seminars for faculty and staff in instructional design and the effective use of instructional technologies in teaching and learning. Stay current with emerging technologies, methods, and learning theories. Share new knowledge with faculty and staff. Serve on standing college teams related to the delivery of instruction, multimedia development and other relevant committees. Research, identify, recommend, evaluate, and coordinate pilots for the investigation of new instructional methods, technologies in teaching, learning, and instructional design.

  • Work closely with the faculty and staff of the assigned academic divisions and other areas relative to the needs of the Center for Distance Learning.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Distance Learning, Educational Technology, or a related area in education and (3) three years of experience in design and training.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Skilled in the area of Design, Distance Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design or Systems Design.
