JOB SUMMARY
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing high-quality learning experiences that support employees, customers, and partners across VelocityEHS products and solutions. This role executes on defined training needs aligned to product releases, operational priorities, and enablement programs. The Instructional Designer partners with Training Program Managers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into structured, engaging, and scalable learning assets. This position focuses on content creation, instructional design execution, and continuous improvement of learning materials within a defined training framework, including support of self-service learning experiences such as Help Center content.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop learning assets including eLearning modules, instructor-led training, job aids, videos, Help Center content, and assessments.
- Translate product requirements, workflows, and SME input into structured, consumable learning
experiences. - Execute on training deliverables aligned to product releases and readiness timelines.
- Apply defined instructional design standards and learning frameworks (e.g., Level 100–300).
- Collaborate with Training Program Managers and SMEs to scope and develop learning content.
- Revise and maintain existing training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with product updates.
- Track and incorporate feedback and evaluation data to improve learning effectiveness.
- Ensure all learning assets meet quality, brand, and usability standards.
- Support development and maintenance of Help Center and self-service learning content in alignment with defined structure, standards, and adult learning principles.
- Manage multiple content development projects with competing deadlines.
- Stay current on instructional design best practices, tools, and emerging learning technologies
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of Instructional Design within SaaS, education or learning and development
- Ability to independently transform raw content and data received from subject matter experts into learning and training content
- Experience evaluating learning outcomes and effectiveness through qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Experience designing eLearning and instructor-led training materials
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with colleagues, subject matter experts, and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to brand and internal quality standards
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Strong attention to details, policies and procedures with the ability to identify and recommend improvement opportunities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe PDF Documents
- Experience with authoring tools (Articulate 360, Storyline, Rise) or similar platforms
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with LMS platforms (Docebo preferred)
- Experience supporting product launches or enablement initiatives
- Experience in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment
- Experience with multimedia tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with role-based or tiered learning frameworks
- Knowledge of EHS & ESG domains
VelocityEHS is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices by offering market-based salary ranges. The range for this position is between $82,150 – $90,000 (United States). The range for this position is between $71,800 – $80,000 CAD (Canada). The range for this position is between €55,100 – €67,700 (Ireland). We aim to hire between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range and offers at the maximum of the range are uncommon. The final offered salary will be based on candidate’s proficiency in skill set, prior relevant experience, internal equity, market considerations, and other factors. This role is also eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.
