The Impact of an Instructional Designer at Coupa:
Instructional Designers at Coupa create and maintain best-in-class eLearning, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led content for Coupa Product training to serve customers, partners, and employees. They have a solid knowledge of instructional design, adult learning theory, and technical training best practices. They must possess a strong bias for action and an unwavering commitment to making our internal and external customers and partners successful.
What You'll Do:
- Work directly with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and objectives.
- Design and develop effective learning solutions that address knowledge and/or performance gaps for customers and partners.
- Use core instructional design principles and theories to maximize learning and produce impactful results.
- Generate scripts, storyboards, and prototypes of training content to be reviewed and approved by key stakeholders.
- Leverage various multimedia approaches and authoring tools to create interactive online learning experiences.
- Create and update curriculum to be delivered in multiple modalities including online, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training.
- Ensure course materials meet quality standards and align with writing and style guidelines.
- Effectively own content development projects and collaborate with SMEs, curriculum managers and other internal stakeholders, as well as ILT content delivery teams.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- 2+ years of curriculum management, learning experience, and/or instructional design experience in a corporate training environment. SaaS experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in adult learning, organizational development, or professional training programs.
- BA or BS degree in Education, Instructional Design, or another relevant field.
- Strong understanding of instructional design process, knowledge transfer methods, curriculum, and taxonomy.
- Experience with a variety of applications (Microsoft Office) and authoring tools (e.g. Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Camtasia).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information and convert it into easily understandable and engaging learning content.
- Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs and develop media-rich, engaging, and high-impact learning solutions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with a sense of ownership and the ability to successfully execute on deliverables.
- Excellent internal relationship-building skills and ability to drive effective communication, collaboration, and commitment across disparate groups with competing priorities.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills, and attention to detail.
