Overview

The Insights Solutions Consultant serves as a strategic advisor to travel and hospitality organizations seeking to leverage data and analytics to improve business performance. This role combines solution consulting, business intelligence, customer engagement, and commercial responsibility to drive the adoption and growth of the OnyxInsights platform.


The ideal candidate is equally comfortable analyzing data, presenting to executive stakeholders, uncovering business challenges, and developing compelling value propositions that lead to new business and expansion opportunities.


While this is not a traditional sales role, the Insights Solutions Consultant will be responsible for driving measurable commercial outcomes through customer acquisition, solution expansion, retention, and long-term value realization.

Minimum required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Hospitality, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

Reports to: VP Sales

Oversight: This position has no direct reports

Roles/ Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their business objectives, identifying opportunities, and recommending data-driven solutions.
  • Demonstrate the value of OnyxInsights through tailored product demonstrations, workshops, executive briefings, and business reviews.
  • Help customers interpret analytics and translate data into actionable business recommendations that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Identify and support new business opportunities and expanded platform adoption for OnyxInsights.
  • Develop business cases, ROI analyses, and value propositions that support commercial opportunities.
  • Support customer renewals by demonstrating ongoing value, adoption, and measurable business impact.
  • Contribute to revenue objectives related to new subscriptions, account expansion, and customer retention.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations in a clear, business-focused way for both operational and executive audiences.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by sharing market insights and customer feedback to influence product strategy and future enhancements.
  • Stay current on hospitality, payments, and business intelligence trends while representing OnyxInsights at customer meetings and industry events

Qualifications

Minimum required:

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing consulting, analytics, or business intelligence role within hospitality or travel technology
  • Experience in sales, pre-sales, or customer-facing commercial roles within hospitality technology solutions.
  • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. • Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
  • Experience presenting complex information to senior executives and business decisionmakers.
  • Experience developing business cases, value propositions, or ROI analyses.
  • Comfort working toward revenue goals and participating in a variable-compensation structure.

Preferred:

  • Experience within hotel operations, travel technology, fintech, or B2B payments.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and data-visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of hotel distribution, commissions, payment processing, benchmarking, and financial-performance metrics.
  • Experience supporting revenue-generating initiatives, customer expansion, or commercial growth objectives.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

Teamwork/Leadership/interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly collaborative, commercially minded, and customer-focused approach.

Success Metrics

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • New OnyxInsights annual recurring revenue.
  • Expansion revenue within existing customer accounts.
  • Customer retention and renewal performance.
  • Product adoption, engagement, and utilization.
  • Pipeline influence and opportunity conversion.
  • Executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Customer satisfaction and demonstrated value realization.

Within the first 12 months, the Insights Solutions Consultant will:

  • Establish themselves as a trusted advisor to key OnyxInsights customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the OnyxInsights platform, customer use cases, and value proposition.
  • Drive measurable growth in OnyxInsights subscriptions, customer adoption, and account expansion.
  • Help customers identify meaningful revenue, payment, and operational opportunities through data-driven insights.
  • Strengthen executive engagement and demonstrate measurable customer value.
  • Influence product innovation through customer feedback and market knowledge.
  • Become a recognized subject-matter expert in hospitality analytics, business intelligence, and the OnyxInsights platform.

Organizational Interlocks

This position will work closely with internal stakeholders in product, client management, client support, and sales.

Physical Demands/ Travel required

Work associated with this position is sedentary in nature and performed indoors at a desk either remotely or in an office setting. Travel for this position is less than 10%. This position is hybrid in office and remote.
