Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with Linux and Windows Server administration in a virtualized environment

  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code principles and practices

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across computer, storage, and network layers

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision

  • Must reside within the United States

  • Requires additional fingerprint/background clearance, and ongoing recertification every 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS services (Virtual Machines, VNets, Managed Disks, Azure Resource Manager)

  • Experience with Azure CLI, OpenTofu, or similar for infrastructure provisioning automation

  • Familiarity with VM image/template pipelines (e.g., Cloud Init)

  • Exposure to monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics, Azure Monitor)

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
