As the Manager of DevOps and SRE, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of infrastructure, operations, and reliability engineering to ensure highly available, scalable, and efficient systems. You will lead a team of talented engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive initiatives to optimize our technology stack and deliver superior performance.

What you’ll do:
  • Manage Infrastructure and Operations: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. Implement best practices for configuration management, deployment pipelines, and system monitoring.
  • Scaling and Automation: Drive the automation of infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and management processes. Implement solutions to scale the infrastructure seamlessly with business growth, leveraging cloud technologies and orchestration tools.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Build and lead an SRE team focused on maximizing system reliability, performance, and availability. Implement practices such as error budgeting, incident response, blameless postmortems, and proactive monitoring to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and security to align infrastructure and operations with business goals and requirements. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and support to the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with security and privacy regulations. Collaborate with the security team to implement robust security measures, perform vulnerability assessments, and drive incident response plans to safeguard our systems and data.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize our infrastructure, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance. Provide recommendations on technology stack, tools, and processes to meet business objectives.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Assist with managing the infrastructure and operations budget, including vendor relationships and contract negotiations. Optimize resource allocation and capacity planning to meet operational needs.
What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or commiserate experience. 
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in managing infrastructure and operations, with a focus on DevOps and/or SRE.
  • Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure (AWS,GCP, Digital Ocean), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with implementing observability tools, monitoring systems, and incident management frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, compliance requirements, and familiarity with security tools and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and continuous integration/delivery practices.
  • Experience working in a technology startup environment is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications in DevOps, Cloud, or SRE domains are a plus.

  • While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote

The typical salary range for this position is $170,000 to $250,000. At PrizePicks, we consider your role, level, and where you'll be working when determining our salary ranges. The compensation info you see on our job postings gives you an idea of the starting pay range for the position. Your actual pay within that range will depend on your specific work location, as well as your skills, experience, and education. Your recruiter will be happy to chat more about the specific pay range for your location and how we arrived at it during the hiring process.
