PURPOSE AND SCOPE:   

The Infrastructure Communications & Release Manager is responsible for the communication and coordinating, the release of infrastructure changes and upgrades across the enterprise IT environment. This role ensures that all infrastructure releases are delivered with minimal disruption, aligned with ITIL best practices, and supported by robust communication and change management processes. Focus on driving user experience through clear and concise commutations and user focused documentation

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Infrastructure Operations Leadership
  • Work closely with infrastructure services leaders to develop a consistent, transparent IT service delivery model
  • Collaborate closely with service owners to develop release and productization plans, ensuring successful changes, upgrades, and new service launches
Communications Management
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for planned and unplanned infrastructure events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for infrastructure-related communications to business stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely, clear, and consistent updates during incidents, maintenance windows, and major changes.
  • Create instructional documents, videos, and other resources to enhance user adoption and improve the overall user experience
  • Develop and implement communication best practices and standards for service improvements, new strategic service offerings, and service migrations or transformations
Service/Product Release Management
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure-related service and product releases.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, and security teams to ensure smooth deployments with minimal disruption.
Operational Change Management
  • Support the infrastructure change management process, ensuring changes are assessed, approved, and implemented with minimal risk.
  • Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ensure that all communications accompanying changes are robust, clear, concise, and compliant with ITIL or similar frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Service Owners to analyze lessons learned and pinpoint continuous improvement opportunities through effective release management and service productization.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure infrastructure operations comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning and testing.

EDUCATION:  

Bachelor’s degree Information Technology/Communications/Marketing, or related field or experience with ITIL, PMP, or similar certifications.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:            

  • 8+ years of experience in supporting IT infrastructure operation Proven experience with enterprise infrastructure and operational change management
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, communications, and release management best practices.
  • Experience planning and developing internal campaigns for technical products and services.
  • Technical writing experience for communicating complex technical processes and systems for diverse audiences with varying ranges of technical experience is a plus.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to present, explain and simplify complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to others
  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities
