Job Description

Information Security Engineer

Do you have a passion for cybersecurity and a knack for problem-solving? We’re looking for a proactive Information Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be on the front lines, helping to defend our organization from evolving cyber threats. You'll play a critical part in our Security Operations Center (SOC), monitoring for threats, responding to incidents, and implementing new security tools to strengthen our defenses.

What You'll Do:

  • Protect and Respond: Monitor security alerts, investigate potential incidents, and respond quickly to neutralize threats.

  • Manage Security Tools: Configure, manage, and maintain a range of security tools, including firewalls, antivirus, and EDR systems.

  • Hunt for Vulnerabilities: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and work with our IT teams to address and fix any security weaknesses.

  • Improve Security Operations: Help identify security gaps, develop plans for new tools and technologies, and train the team on their use.

  • Document and Report: Keep detailed records of security incidents and provide regular reports to management.

  • Stay Ahead of Threats: Stay current with the latest security trends and technologies to strengthen our defenses

What We're Looking For:

  • 1+ years of experience in an IT or cybersecurity role.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects under pressure.

  • Solid understanding of network security, including network protocols and hardware configuration.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for documenting incidents and collaborating with the team.

    Previous experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC).

  • Familiarity with the mortgage industry.

  • Security certifications such as Security+, Pentest+, CYSA+, or SSCP.

Additional Details:

  • This is a primarily remote position.

  • Candidates who live within 50 miles of the Madison, WI office will be in a hybrid model, two (2) days in the office.

  • You'll need a quiet workspace and reliable internet.

  • This role requires 24-hour on-call support on a rotating basis.
