The RoleAs an Information Assurance Intern at NuHarbor, your day to day will encompass a variety of Information Assurance engagements and the tactical execution of foundational tasks. Interns are provided with training, coaching, and diversified hands-on practical experiences that will help in developing skills in the discipline of Information Assurance. You will be asked to work with both internal and external stakeholders, contribute to basic client deliverables, provide support to your colleagues, and develop sound decision making skills.
What you’ll do
- Work with industry leading experts to develop security solutions for clients.
- Grow your professional network, develop communication and technical presentation skills.
- Assist on a variety of tasks related to Third Part Risk Management such as:
- Review security documentation and evaluations of risk posture.
- Draft assessment program documentation, operating procedures, and client reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that appropriate framework requirements are incorporated into client projects and deliverables.
- Learn and apply knowledge of common industry standards including, NIST-800-53, NIST 800-171, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO-27001, PCI, IRS Pub 1075, HIPAA Security Rule, and SSAE16.
- Support the development of security policies, procedures, plans, and templates for client engagements and service lines
- Research and report on current security threats, compliance changes, and emerging technologies.
- Assist and support ad-hoc project assignments.
Your foundation. The requirements for this role:
- Currently enrolled in higher education, certification, or other cybersecurity-related program.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
Additional capabilities that will differentiate you for this role:
- Security+ Certification
- 3-6 months of experience in an IT or Cybersecurity related job or internship
- Experience assessing security risks and compliance gaps.
- Experience with technical and professional writing.
- Experience presenting complex technical and security concepts to general audiences.
