What you’ll do
The Industry Marketing Strategist is hands-on in developing, executing, and optimizing our vertical marketing strategy, focusing strongly on virtual and in-person industry-specific engagement. Our ideal candidate can take the initiative and has the tactical expertise to drive lead generation, pipeline acceleration, and grow current accounts. The strategist will collaborate closely with the Vertical Senior Field Marketing Manager and Vertical sales teams to execute programs across multiple industries, such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Public Sector, and Travel, Tourism and Hospitality. They will help establish a vertical marketing foundation that expands throughout the marketing funnel and into the sales cycle.
- Manage multiple digital and in-person marketing programs with strong organization and attention to detail.
- Execute industry marketing plans aligned with vertical marketing goals, including trade shows, outbound plays, ABM plays, executive activations, and virtual/in-person events.
- Explore ABM 1:few campaigns, including target account selection, personalized content, and engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with sales teams to understand market nuances and drive industry-specific go-to-market programs.
- Ensure all prospects and clients receive an on-brand, best-in-industry experience.
- Travel to events to execute on-site activations, collect customer feedback, and assist on-site teams with their goals.
What you’ll bring
You are a true bridge between marketing and sales, working collaboratively to execute programs and processes that drive the funnel and enhance the customer buying journey. You pay attention to detail and continuously optimize strategies based on field and industry observations to drive business value. You are inquisitive and looking to learn more about our dedicated industries and intentional about applying that knowledge to your programs.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 4+ years of relevant experience, including event planning, campaign management, and sales partnership.
- Comfortable and flexible in a fast-paced environment with a "quick start" mentality and high productivity, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative and organized and have the ability to multitask and handle pressure.
- Ability to travel as needed for in-person engagements, which may include long periods of socializing.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Familiarity/experience marketing to one or more of the following industries: Higher Education, Government, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, Healthcare, Financial Services, Professional Sports, Insurance, and/or Pharmaceutics.
- Knowledge of long sales cycles and how to deploy marketing tactics over time to nurture leads, drive adoption, and accelerate growth.
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and design aesthetically pleasing collateral.
How you’ll grow
Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:
- Complete Sprout’s product training.
- Partner with your manager to define key success metrics.
- Conduct initial 1:1s with employees and key partners.
- Learn market messages, product story, and ideal customer profile.
- Work with the existing industry marketing team to align on a Q1 plan.
- Training and education on martech tools, project management processes, and team rituals.
Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:
- Executing upcoming initiatives based on research and industry trends to generate leads and accelerate pipeline.
- Expanding support to vertically aligned sales teams.
- Working with Marketing and Sales Ops to measure and report on program outcomes.
Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:
- Becoming an ingrained member of cross-functional marketing and sales teams.
- Developing vertical marketing suggestions with a best-in-class industry mindset.
- Regularly update sales counterparts on the team’s go-to-market strategies and gather qualitative and quantitative feedback for optimization.
Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:
- Developing go-to-market strategies that align with your team’s growth goals
- Expanding marketing strategy to include programs aligned to personas, industry, and use cases.
- Executing creative and intentional plays with a point of view.
- Researching and redefining how to engage our industry audiences more effectively.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. If your position requires a physical presence in a Sprout office, it will be evident in the job listing and your offer letter.
Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:
- Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $75,240.00 (min), $94,100.00 (mid), $112,680.00 (max) USD annually
- Zone 2 (All other US states): $68,400.00(min), $85,500.00 (mid), $102,600.00 (max) USD annually
The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.
Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit). Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
