As Industry Marketing Manager, you will lead go-to-market strategy and messaging for public sector and regulated industries, including federal, state and local government, higher education, utilities, and similar sectors. You will translate industry-specific needs, regulatory drivers, and operational workflows into compelling value propositions and use case narratives that clearly articulate how Talkdesk AI and CX automation technology differentiates.
You will report to the Senior Director of Industry Marketing and work closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Campaigns, and Field Marketing to ensure market relevance, equip sellers for success, and support pipeline growth within your industries. You will guide messaging and content strategy for campaigns and events and own the product and solution launch process.
This role is ideal for someone who can build credible narratives for regulated environments, understands how complex organizations make purchasing decisions, and is comfortable shifting between high-level strategy and hands-on content creation. You will be the subject matter expert on your buyers, your industry trends, and your competitive landscape.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain industry messaging frameworks, positioning guides, and value proposition narratives tailored to government, higher education, utilities, and other regulated segments
  • Translate industry challenges, regulatory pressures, and operational workflows into standardized use case stories and solution messaging
  • Create anchor assets and supporting content including solution briefs, presentation decks, landing page copy, customer one-pagers, video scripts, and thought leadership
  • Partner with sales leadership to deliver sales playbooks, persona-based pitch materials, talk tracks, case studies, and objection handling tools
  • Lead enablement sessions and provide ongoing content updates to support sales readiness and industry pursuit strategy
  • Collaborate with campaign marketing to align vertical messaging to campaign objectives, target audiences, and funnel progression
  • Support Field Marketing by shaping message direction for industry conferences, webinars, and sponsorships while they own execution and logistics
  • Monitor competitive dynamics, regulatory developments, and market trends to inform positioning and strategic recommendations
  • Contribute to thought leadership and analyst relations materials that strengthen Talkdesk credibility in public sector and regulated markets
  • Maintain alignment across marketing, product management, sales, and customer success to ensure messaging consistency.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in B2B SaaS marketing, product marketing, industry marketing, or go-to-market strategy roles
  • Experience marketing technology solutions to government, higher education, utilities, or other regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to craft clear and compelling messaging frameworks, value propositions, and content across multiple formats
  • Strong understanding of how complex organizations evaluate and adopt enterprise solutions
  • Skilled communicator able to lead enablement, participate in customer conversations, and represent industry narratives with confidence
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Have a BA or BS degree 
  • Fluent English speaker and writer

Pay Range (Base Pay): $99,000 - $149,000

Other Types of Pay: Based on level and role the employee may be eligible for long term incentives in the form of equity and short term incentives of either bonus or commission. 

Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Retirement Benefits: 401(k) plan

Paid Time Off: Talkdesk offers an uncapped paid time off program, subject to manager approval and consistent with business needs. 

Paid Holidays: Talkdesk offers 14 paid holidays each year. 

Paid Sick Leave: Employees have uncapped paid time off, subject to manager approval and consistent with business needs.
