SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
Areas of responsibility include assigned engineered labor standards development and maintenance, governance support, prescribed work methods, operational analysis, site audits, labor management system sustainment, field education, project coordination, and improvement efforts that support operational execution and business performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage assigned engineered labor standards and prescribed work methods using engineered standards software, labor management systems, MOST, and other Industrial Engineering methods.
  • Support ELS and LMS governance by addressing standards accuracy, sustainability, data integrity, documentation quality, and compliance risks within assigned scope.
  • Analyze operational performance using labor management, warehouse management, transportation, and other Business Technology systems, including data extraction and analysis through SQL, queries, and related tools.
  • Partner with operations leaders, IE leadership, and cross-functional teams to identify root causes, validate improvement opportunities, and translate Industrial Engineering analysis into practical operating actions, while influencing decisions across multiple functions and facilities.
  • Lead or support assigned multi-site improvement work, pilot support, and cross-functional initiatives that improve productivity, labor utilization, process consistency, system accuracy, and measurable business results.
  • Support project execution by understanding timelines, tracking progress against milestones, maintaining follow-up actions, performing quality assurance reviews of assigned work, and communicating progress, risks, and results.
  • Conduct onsite observations, audits, governance reviews, and performance validations to assess method adherence, system accuracy, process consistency, labor utilization, equipment usage, workflow, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support sustainment and optimization of labor management and related operational systems by validating configuration, calibration, parameters, and data integrity.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering methods to develop labor models, simulation or congestion models, regression analysis, and other analytical tools that support operational improvement and resource utilization.
  • Identify, quantify, and prioritize assigned opportunities; develop or support expected benefits, implementation plans, and results tracking against agreed measures.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource and provide field education on ELS, prescribed methods, work measurement, labor systems, Industrial Engineering, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, support onboarding and capability-building activities, and share best practices across the Industrial Engineering team.
  • Accept additional responsibilities or special projects as requested, as other duties may be assigned.

  • Accountability – Takes ownership of assigned work, follows through on commitments, escalates issues appropriately, and delivers solutions with integrity and urgency.
  • Communication – Explains complex information clearly and succinctly through written, verbal, and presentation-based communication.
  • People and Capability Development – Supports team capability by mentoring less experienced engineers, sharing best practices, and contributing to onboarding or training activities.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability – Adjusts to changing priorities, manages ambiguity, and demonstrates willingness to adapt to business needs and growth opportunities.

EDUCATION:

  • BS in Industrial Engineering, or another engineering discipline with relevant Industrial Engineering experience.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Industrial Engineering in a large-scale logistics, distribution, supply chain, or operations environment, including experience developing and maintaining engineered labor standards.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing Industrial Engineering methodologies, work measurement, standardization, operational analysis, project coordination, and process improvement work.
  • Hands-on experience with time study methodologies, MOST, MTM or Master Standard Data (MSD), time study software, and labor management systems.
  • Prior experience supporting operational process changes, labor management system implementation and sustainment, standards governance, project coordination, or improvement execution.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or practical Lean concepts and methodologies.
  • Blue Yonder LMS experience is a plus.

ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Industrial Engineering concepts related to work measurement, economy of motion, labor utilization, workflow, layout, process improvement, and standardization.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from operations management, frontline leadership, employees, senior management, and cross-functional partners.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities across operating sites.
  • Communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical information in a practical, credible manner that supports alignment and buy-in.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and help resolve challenges effectively and efficiently with appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, statistics, and data analysis to operational problems.
  • Project coordination skills, including the ability to understand timelines, track milestones, manage follow-up actions, perform quality reviews of assigned work, and communicate progress, risks, and measured results.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, databases, process flow mapping software, AutoCAD, SQL, and related analytical tools.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
