Location: Wakefield, MA
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 10 – 25 hours per week Shifts: Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours available

The role!
Position: Independent Living Support (ILS) Mentor
Location: Wakefield, MA
Pay rate: $20 per hour
Hours: 10 – 25 hours per week Shifts: Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours available

IHS Mentors are responsible for teaching life and social skills to individuals in a variety of environments using their home and community as the classroom.
- Empower individuals in managing and exercising control over their Individual Support Plan (ISP)
- Directly work with individuals on their ISP goals
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living when necessary
- Seek input from individuals and families; and respond accordingly
- Help individuals to advocate for their needs and desires when necessary.
- Recognize and support the individual’s rights to make decisions, choices, and the right to take risks
- Supervise overall medical health, nutrition, social and general welfare
- Assist in the completion of assessments and other paperwork as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is required
- 3 years of experience preferred
- A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
- Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record
- Must pass company background and reference checks
