The Work You'll Do:

At Sovos, we believe that great compliance starts with great service. As an Implementation Consultant II, you'll be at the heart of our client experience, guiding organizations through complex onboarding journeys and ensuring they're set up for long-term success with Sovos products and services.

More specifically, you will:

Serve as the primary point of contact for large, complex client implementations as well as standard clients when needed

Develop and manage project plans, proactively identify risks, and resolve issues as they arise

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure configuration tasks are completed and key client requirements are met

Produce thorough Client Procedures or solution architecture documents capturing all configuration details and go-forward support information

Lead fast-paced working sessions with clients to design technology-based solutions for complex business challenges

Prepare accurate and timely project status updates, managing stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle

Deliver a seamless, documented handoff to Client Support or Compliance Services teams upon implementation completion

Continue service or support activities for clients after go-live, especially during peak processing periods

Identify and implement process improvements across tools, documents, reports, and templates to strengthen the implementation practice

Provide advanced training, coaching, and mentoring to teammates, as well as client-facing training as needed

Partner with internal departments (Sales, Product, IT, Support, Managed Services, and others) to ensure all tasks align with the project plan and implementation methodology

What We Need From You

Experience in client implementation or project management; prior experience in a similar role is preferred

Strong knowledge of tax rules and processes in the relevant product market

Excellent time management, organizational, and decision-making skills

Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teammates, colleagues, and clients

Analytical mindset with the ability to concentrate on and resolve complex problems

Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
