SUMMARY:
As an Identity and Access Engineer, you will work and partner with a team of individuals in architecture, operations, administration and governance tasked with ensuring IDAM services are applied to corporate-managed assets as well as vendors and other third-party entities.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure employees maintain up-to-date configuration documentation for systems and processes. Rigorously maintain security systems and administer security configurations that reduce risk to enterprise systems and accounts.
- Lead the IT team through IDAM governance, policies and solutions across SSO, directory, certificate, multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged accounts, automation and behavior analytic systems.
- Ensure employees maintain up-to-date configuration documentation for systems and processes. Rigorously maintain security systems and administer security configurations that reduce risk to enterprise systems and accounts.
- Lead Privilege Access Management (PAM).
- Construct and carry out a strategic vision for rigorous and scalable IDAM controls with key performance indicators.
- Ensure PKI is properly set up and certificates are not expired.
- Manage team member access across organizational systems as well as external entities.
- Align operational policies and procedures in tandem with business leaders and technology partners.
- Construct and carry out a strategic vision for rigorous and scalable IDAM controls with key performance indicators.
- Supervise routine access reviews that align with business unit requirements for certification and re-certification.
- Serve as a team lead and initial point of contact for incident response analysts, security operations center (SOC) analysts, application engineers and security management.
- Attend change and project management meetings and engage with other participants.
- Liaison with auditors, both internal and external, to maintain and implement controls for compliance and privacy laws. Works with the legal department to maintain compliance.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's Degree - required. Master's Degree - preferred.
Cybersecurity Experience:
- 7 – 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least five years in IDAM.
- Highly technical and analytical, with a proven deep background in IDAM technology design, implementation and delivery both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws such as, but not limited to, Payment Card Industry (PCI), Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Additionally, experience in one or more of the following is required: ISO 17799, ITIL or NIST.
- Must understand the broader cybersecurity landscape (threats, controls, architecture) and the specialized identity domain.
- Must be able to navigate real-world identity challenges like lifecycle management, federation, MFA rollout, privileged access, and audit remediation.
- Must be able to design identity processes (access reviews, logging, MFA, user provisioning) that meet all relevant regulatory standards and can withstand audits.
Experience in IDAM solutions both on-premises and in the cloud:
- Must be able to oversee complex IAM architectures, design solutions that scale, and understand how identity integrates with every application.
- Design, implementation, and delivery” experience ensures the candidate has led full lifecycle deployments and can guide teams through upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Demonstrated success in team building and leading project teams:
- To train and motivate employees to work together to achieve a culture of continuous improvement.
- To work and collaborate with others.
- Lead a project from start to finish within defined scope, budget, and quality attributes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail:
- To identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Troubleshoot access issues, analyze identity data, lead root-cause investigations, and optimize workflows.
Extensive knowledge of SSO, MFA, Active Directory (AD), public key infrastructure (PKI), privileged accounts and integration application program interface (API) capabilities:
- Must be able to oversee complex IAM architectures, design solutions that scale, and understand how identity integrates with every application
- Technical writing experience:
- To document processes for consistency in procedures.
- Security certification preferred:
- Consistency in concepts, practices and procedures.
