Join Mizuho as an IAM Operations Coordinator!

Mizuho’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team is in the midst of an exciting transformation. We're building a dedicated high performing IAM function that is central to the firm's cybersecurity and regulatory strategy. Our environment is dynamic, growing, and rich with opportunity. You’ll work alongside a talented group of professionals who are passionate about solving complex access challenges, automating at scale, and strengthening security posture across both on-premises and cloud environments. This is a unique chance to join our team that's shaping the future of IAM at a major financial institution.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IAM Operations Coordinator to support the execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of our Identity & Access Management (IAM) operations. Reporting to the Director of IAM Operations, this role provides coordination and escalation support to the Access Management and SailPoint Operations Leads, ensuring consistent execution across Identity Governance, Access Management, and Service Delivery workflows.

The Coordinator will assist and support the Head of IAM Operations in ensuring that core activities for Access Management & Identity Life Cycle Management are performed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with policy and audit requirements. This role is critical for driving process consistency, metric tracking, audit readiness, and effective collaboration with both internal stakeholders and managed service providers.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in IAM operations, strong process ownership, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate across teams. This position also offers a growth path into formal IAM operations leadership and focuses on supporting Identity and Access controls across both on-premises and cloud environments in partnership with the broader Information Security IAM teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a coordination point between the Director of IAM Operations and the Access Management and SailPoint Ops Leads to ensure execution deliverables.
  • Track and report progress on key operational goals, metrics, and service levels (e.g., SLA adherence, request volumes, error rates, exceptions) and assist with reporting for senior leadership and auditors.
  • Create and manage operational dashboards, ticket triage/escalations, and KPI reporting to identify trends, issues, and performance gaps.
  • Own the root cause analysis and remediation planning for operational breakdowns or audit issues, acting as a project manager to ensure proper coordination, follow-up, and closure
  • Support preparation of audit and compliance evidence packages, and maintain structured documentation of IAM workflows, controls, and service procedures.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of IAM operations processes, identifying areas to enhance automation, reduce cycle time, and improve accuracy.
  • Maintain a centralized calendar of IAM operations routines, escalations, access certifications, and regulatory deliverables
  • Partner with managed service providers to ensure accountability and adherence to SLAs.
  • Work closely with Service Desk, application owners, IT support, and platform teams to support continuous improvement of IAM processes, customer experience and consistent delivery of access services.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in IAM operations, governance, or program coordination roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Workday, ServiceNow, & Active Directory.
  • Strong working knowledge of identity lifecycle processes, including onboarding/offboarding, RBAC, SoD, and policy-driven access controls.
  • Experience managing operational processes, dashboards, and issue queues in an IAM or security operations context.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications in security or IAM domain (CISSP, CISA, CIAM, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Splunk dashboards.
  • Project management experience with ability to lead issue resolution and process improvement efforts across teams.
  • Experience working with ticketing and workflow platforms such as ServiceNow and JIRA

The expected base salary ranges from $81k- $130k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
