We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team at one of our in-office locations. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in state employer taxes, payroll administration, and core HR generalist functions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws
This in-office position will be filled by one candidate, based out of our Crown Point, IN, Maitland, FL, Sellersville, PA, or Waller, TX office

WHAT HELIOS NEEDS FROM YOU:
- Own the employer tax correction, reconciliation, and filing, jurisdiction setup (state or local), agency notice responses, and tax profiles.
- Partner with payroll and finance departments for auditing and payroll processing for multi-state employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
- Audit employee benefits, leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD), and workers' compensation claims.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support rollout and track employee engagement activities including events, recognition programs, and employee feedback surveys in partnership with HRBPs/HR Coordinator/TRS.
- Collect feedback on employee experience and satisfaction; maintain tracking systems and recommend enhancements based on data insights.
- Contribute to communication strategies by assisting in the development and delivery of internal updates, culture-related announcements, and employee programs.
- Support engagement efforts across different work models (onsite, hybrid, and remote), including virtual events and digital connection strategies.
- Support HR projects and processes as needed.
WHAT SETS YOU APART:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong emphasis on payroll and employer tax compliance across multiple states.
- In-depth knowledge of state and federal employment tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Proficient in ADP Workforcenow HRIS and payroll system.
- Demonstrated experience in auditing onboarding processes, including I-9 compliance and payroll documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- HR/Payroll certifications, PHR, SPHR, FPC, CPP, CPS, PCP, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is a plus.
Helios' compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The total pay for this position ranges from $75,000 annually in our lowest geographic market up to $90,000 annually in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Helios compensation may also include annual bonus, commissions, equity, sign-on payments, as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
